Does outer space just keep on going or has it got to stop sometime?

I believe the former...it's more intruiging if you think there's no limit.
priya
well all the scientists say there is no end to space. kinda scary thought though, hard to get your head around. blink.gif

According to scientists the universe is constantly expanding, so apparently there's no end yet that we're aware of, but maybe the band has a better answer. I just didn't want you, like, all worried about if they didn't get back to you right away wink.gif.

well, scientist says that there are two ways how our universe ends. its either all the heavenly bodies expand until gravity can no longer support the structure of atoms leading them to crumble into pieces. Everything is made of atoms so everything will be gone.

OR

there is what you call dark matter, that acts as glue in the universe which helps the heavenly bodies keep there distance to each other, if dark matter overcome, the universe would stop expanding and the whole universe will stop and freeze.

Okay

What about Black Holes?

The Universe is honeycombed with them, all that matter has to go somewhere??? blink.gif

hmm... black holes would dissolve if the universe would expand infinitely because of the enormous space that would be created.

hmm... about the dark matter and black holes... i dont really know...

Alternate dimension, of course biggrin.gif
smile.gif

And the universe has no end. Because if it did, there would have to be something outside of the confines of the universe. And we would have to call that the universe too, since we have no understanding of it. And that will just keep going and going...

some scientist believes that there are numerous universe that exists, i think they call it membranes?

That's what I had in mind.

The matter passes and is interconnected thru' the membranes, think of a honeycombe (or a Crunchie bar) interconnections all over the place the matter unless colliding with antimatter would still exist.
Matter and antimatter cannot co-exist in the same place, but everything else is subject to gravity, black holes have such strong gravity fields the matter is pulled through to exist in another universe.

The problem will be how and when the stuff of the universes are so far a part that gravity has no effect on any matter.
Even black holes have to feed on something.

Damn there's a thought cold black space ....lot's of it. blink.gif

now that the universe is just a cold black space, there's no more gravity the can support another gravity nor matter that can support each, so statistically black holes would dissolve.

Questions like these make my head hurt, it's like the whole "What comes first the chicken or the egg" scenario.

I love these sort of programes Discovery, NatGeo, History, Horizon (BBC) etc, etc..answer to both ^

Uzzolum Bird Theory : When something goes round and round and eventually disappears up it's own rear end.
