Hi!

I searched the threads and didn't find a topic already about this so here it is...
EARTH HOUROn March 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m., local time, World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour -- Earth Hour -- to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate their commitment to finding solutions. Turn out. Take action.

Like in my country.
We have energy crisis and so we don't have electric energy for much more than 1 hour a day. Every day.

Honestly

I dont think we should stop there though. I think we should start a day when no one eats meat (no im not a vegetarian myself). I think people have starting eating to much meat the last years, and to freight meat is very bad for the enviroment.
And perhaps one day no one drives cars ( I know thats a tuff one).

I did it too, it was awesome. I hate thinking that you want to help the earth and in the meantime some creepy motherfuckers are wasting the last natural resources we have. But I guess we have to try and never give up.

Yeah I have done the same this winter. I have used so little lamps I could, most candels and batterydrivenlamps.
Its cheaper too, mostly, some candles are fucking expensive

I use the cheapest candles. I remember when I lived at home and I walked around the house switching off the lights. And I was angry when someone left the lights on if no one was in the room.

Yes, thats fucking irritating. And then you switch off, but after some minutes is the chance that the lamps are on again is pretty big.
Some in my family have the bad habbit to just switch on and then go....

Sanna/SweWhat made you

?
It's our reality, we live without electric light for 5-7 hours a day, we get used to this.
But again, if we want to help and save our Earth, we
must do that
regularly.
Not only once a year turn off our lights...but do other simple things as well.

Dont get me wrong, I think its good that we use so little resources we can.
I do it all the time, so often I can.
I just didnt now that that was your reality, to just have electricity one hour by day.
By the way, the new electricitycars business have grown.
I think its good that we can stop using oil. But electricity is hard to make too, and that take some rescources too.
But then we dont get smog.
What do you think of the new electricitycars?

Maybe it's good for environment, but our energy crisis has arisen not to protect the environment, it's just a weakness of our power supply system and ecomony. Plus, my country is very small, but the main consumption of electric energy falls at USA and Europe. It's good there are people from these continents who care about the environment.

It's a pity we can't move for a long distance on foot or by bike in a short space of time and we have to use cars. As for me, I prefer to go on foot.
Some people in my area ride a bike anywhere they want to and never use a car.

that's right.
Especially when u have several places to go to in a short period of time...
that's why I do my best to spend a day simply hiking, walking...I take a friend (or their dogs at least

) and investigate the suburbs)))))
