About Me
I've loved the guys since Capricorn, but even when "A Beautiful Lie" came out, I recognized we weren't quite there yet. When I pre-ordered the album, I naturally got my "Who the F%#K is Bartholomew Cubbins?"...and realized I should have bought a few more, since I'm gonna wear holes into this thing!
Anyway, my kids were starting to like the band. I had bought myself a ticket for the April 9th show, the beginning of "Into the Wild", and then bought 3 others (one for my 14 year-old-son, one for my 9-year-old daughter, and one for my ex, because my kids wouldn't have been able to come if he didn't (he's like that.) I've been to many concerts, but this concert was the most amazing ever. We weren't "fans" watching a band. It was a FAMILY REUNION...the kind with only your favorite cousins, uncles and aunts...everyone you love to be around.
The highlight for us, of course, came right as Shannon was finishing L490. I had asked every security guard, all the lighting and sound people, even the ushers!, if there was a way to get a message to the band just to let them know it was their first concert. Not expecting anything of any kind, just wanted to let them know that the next generation is quickly following in our footsteps! I was going to yell out as loud as I could that it was my kids' first concert, and that they are the GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD...but only after Shannon was done! He got a little miffed (it looked like...I don't know if he missed a note or what), but right as I was about to YELL, I heard all of these people behind me yelling. I turned around, and low and behold, here comes the Fresh Florescent PINK MARShawk! I used Jared's picture that he took from the stage (he's the one who called it "Vegas Baby!") to show where we were. He talked a little while the guy finished setting up the microphone, then started singing "Hurricane". This is where I have to insert media of Jared and my daughter, Katana:
Everything about our guys is wonderful. They aren't fakes or posers. And where ever they go, they bring the family with them!
