About Me

I'm a Mom, a member of the Awesome Original Second Time Arounders Marching Band (you may have seen me in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a few weeks ago!! Surely you picked me out of the 512 members!!), a former U.S. Marine (time in service 21 years), a former Playboy Bunny (1980's era) and like to paint, play flute, create costumes, grow plants, collect bugs, seeds, rocks, and travel. My degree is in Cultural Anthropology and Geography emphasis on GIS/Digital Mapping. I've travelled both through my time in the USMC and on my own. Japan and Ireland are my favorites, with Tahiti close behind! I'm also a big photography hound, really, I should have been a photo journalist for all the documenting I do of my children's lives/events. At present I am a teacher (substitute), raising Monarch Butterflies, painting murals and enjoying this newly found passion that is the Mars Universe!!

<br /><br />I raise Monarch Butterflies year round. One of them went into chrysalis form 12-26-08 and emerged Jan 13, 2009, on my birthday!! IT's a GIRL!! She was released to the wild at 1pm. She sat on me for 30 minutes before leaving on her own. It was very cool.
