Okay so how many of you have watched this show?

Personally I've watched the first 2 episodes, and will watch the 3rd and 4th ones later today.

Here's some links if you're interested in learning more but haven't yet gotten the chance to watch it (DirecTV subscribers, your experiences may be cut extra short -- FX is being cut from the lineup fairly soon, no? even if you don't watch this show you can still go here and apparently petition for the network to be kept on the roster? worth a shot...)

I actually kindof like how offbeat it is...of course after watching eps 3 and 4 I may totally change my mind, lol.

glad you started this! lol cos i have loved this show since before it started lol All the hype got me interested, i spent lots of time At youregoingtodieinthere.com JUST so i could get the stickers on getglue before the show Aired...i completely love it, i Admit theres been A few episodes that were A little humdrum (the episode that showed the history of the house, who built it, etc), but thats to be expected, A show like this has to throw in the fact Airing episodes just to get A backstory feel for later on
i have completely And utterly become wowed by the character of Addy, honestly i think the girl playing her is doing A kickAss job And shes become my fave character, not sure why yet, but im thinking Addy is the voice of reason And makes me feel safe lol course the way this show has gone i wouild not doubt if Addy ends up being the root of All that is evil! lol

After being exposed to all the hype surrounding this show, I got around to watching the first three episodes on-demand today, and plan to watch the fourth episode online sometime within the next couple days. Personally, although I found the first episode to be the most dragged out, with all the introductions of the main characters, that one pilot episode alone sucked me in, and I could not take a break and wait on watching the next two episodes!

I definitely was in a state of 'Wow, did not expect that coming!', towards the end of the third episode when the creepy, mutilated ex-resident of the house killed Ben Harmon's affair, whom was carrying his child... if she had survived, it would have been really juicy, with his wife, Vivien, pregnant as well. Something tells me that once they built that gazebo over where she was buried in the soil, she will come back and haunt them... Additionally, as BeanDubh stated, I am quite interested in the character of Addy, and am intrigued on her storyline and role!

Oh, and I was just reading one of the analysis link from the Washington Post shannon leto's lezbean shared, and was just reminded of the gimp in which Vivien had sex with during the first episode! Hmm, don't think that fetus she is carrying is Ben's now...

^^ you get your wish! haydens ghost looks As if she does in fact come back to haunt them, As it is samhain, when the dead walk freely...which is why i Am Assuming Addy was Able to cross the street...something makes me think they Are All dead, we Already know the maid And the former gay couple Are All dead, weve seen the wife of the original builder of the house come back...i just havent been Able to decode if Addy And her mother Are dead As well...i have A thousand And one theories flying Around each episode As some new hint is dropped...the creature that Attacked the popular girl that was bullying violet...perhaps the dead baby the original doctor tried to frankenstein back...? tate...possibly constances son that she spoke of so highly? being her one perfectly beautiful child...? i Assume hes possibly dead As well since he seems to never leave the house, And only Agreed to take violet out on the one night the dead can walk freely?.....lol hmmm...

lol yah i totally Agree with you there, esp since she seemed to get pregnant like immediately, And the baby is bigger than it should be...i love how the nurse fainted once she saw the ultrasound...still cant figure out who the rubber man is though, i had vague theories that it was possibly the doctor who built the house (wish i could remember his damn name) but theres just not enough info lol

hayyyy youuuu guysssssssssssss

i'm wondering if we should put a few things behind some spoiler tags...but the show's only 4 eps in. i just upgraded my phone earlier this month and i got a $25 gift card for an app that lets you buy eps of tv shows and rent/buy movies. the best thing about it? i can buy eps of AHS as soon as the morning after it airs so if i miss it wednesday night, i can watch it the following evening the worst parts about it? because of the formatting i can ONLY watch it on my phone (i.e. cant hook up my phone to the tv or computer and watch it on a slightly bigger screen), and my gift card will expire before the season is over so i can't complete my collection

and guys...i really urge you to go to that last link i edited in my original post. if you're big on theories (like who's in the rubber man suit?) and symbolism and imagery then please please check out some of those recaps (and nearly all of the comments). it got me thinking so much i went back and re-watched all the eps! some things i'm thinking about and find myself agreeing with...don't read unless you've watched ep 4 or unless you don't mind getting spoiled:

1 - re: the fetus, harmon sex, etc:

i'm still trying to figure out the timeline. not sure that there's a normal one seeing as how it seems like everything is moving so fast. BUT the baby's supposed to be 2 months old, and the last ep was putting them at halloween so they had to have moved in and had sex around the end of august. plus since violet started school and had no mention of transferring mid-semester they've already been in the house for 2 months...and since both ben and the rubber man had sex with vivien in the same day i'm not sure if it's the rubber man's baby (which i think would be another frankenbaby...i think the first one's the thing in the basement that is summoned by/works with tate) or ben's and it's being affected by the bad juju in the house (i feel like the house made her stop spotting -- she made the comment that it stopped as soon as she got into the house).

2 - just who the eff is the rubber man anyway?:

i read somewhere on that site that i keep pimping out that the writers/creators of the show said we met the person in the rubber man suit in the first ep. so who did we meet in the first ep? ben, tate, burn man. since i didnt see rubber man in a stance similar to burn man this leaves either tate or ben. yes, tate is fascinated with violet but he's a teenage(?) boy...and viv's a milf lol speaking of viv and the rubber man...does anyone else think she knows it wasn't ben at least halfway through the sex? especially given that look that she's got on her face when her sleepwalking (did you hear the whispering and correlate that with burn man's story??) husband comes back to bed?

3 - constance - dead or alive?

i think she's alive. bitter and hateful, but alive. lol i don't think she or addie have ever lived in the house, but they have been neighbors for a long time. i think that they've had their little privacy issue (read: traipse into the house whenever they like) since they've been living beside the house and they both know the weirdness that goes on and have experienced and befriended the house and the ghosts within. that's why she was so insistent on getting addie to the lawn after she got hit by the car...because if she dies on the property, she'll be bound to it and live forever with her friends. i just feel so bad...and i wanna know who hit her and ran!

4 - tate:

i think he's constance's son as well (the whole "my mother is a cocksucker, sucked off the next door neighbor and forced my dad to leave" thing and constance's spiel to addie about not sharing her affections with any man makes me think she was also seducing the guy that she shot and wasn't married to him), and that he died in the 90s at some point (kurt cobain references, grunge-style clothing and way of thinkinp, especially since most people who died in that house in a certain era still carry an air of that era with them). i think some things he does are seen by violet and/or ben, and some things aren't (like him writing "TAINT" on the wall. violet doesn't react at ALL. plus when she's brushing addie's hair later on the word has been smudged and crossed out but not erased...whole other theory for THAT lol). i think he's a ghost of the house (considering that 1 - he can summon that frankenbaby, 2 - he's around the house whenever he wants to be, 3 - that flash of him covered in blood behind ben's chair in ep 1 made him look pretty uncomfortable as if remembering himself that way, and 4 - he's never seen off of the house property (except for halloween...the one day when spirits can walk the earth). anyone else think it's a little strange that vivien has never seen him? i mean he doesn't have a real reason to see her but i just think it's a little weird. maybe it's just me. maybe i've just started questioning everything lol

5 - the burn man:

i think that either the burn man is either a psycho or someone that's permanently damaged by the house and his brain cancer. there are some that believe that burn man is a figment of ben's imagination...a mr. hyde to his dr. jekyll, if you will. but he does ask ben to check out his file, to get him out of the house, etc. so the story has to at least be in the newspapers. plus he's been seen off property and none of the passersby seem to look at ben like he's yelling to himself? maybe burn man wants back in the house and the fastest way for him to do it would be to befriend the owners? i think the burn man is trying to perpetuate his own history, or legacy in the house (see also: the gay couple killed the year prior, wanting to decorate the house they never got to have their party in, and also dr. charles's wife coming back to the house maybe?)...seems like that may be something of a recurring thing, or something the writers may explore. or maybe that's just his role and the house is controlling him...kindof like moira's role as the slutty housekeeper that seduces the man of the house. and speaking of moira...

6 - moira sr. and moira jr. yeah...about that:

this is a sad, messed up subplot on its own. this is also what makes me think that the perma-ghosts of the house (i.e. the ones bound to the property because their bodies are buried there) are bound to their roles last played before death. she slept with the man of the house in 1983 (lonely, my ass) and was killed while in her prime, and while she was still guilty of lechery. i did like the line she said about women seeing into the soul, though. maybe she's seen by men in her younger form because that's how she was last perceived by a man while alive? i believe that her body is the one the burn man found while digging the hole for hayden, and since the gazebo is over her final resting place that she won't be able to leave unless her remains are dug up. which also makes me think that she drugged ben's coffee so that she could drag him out there and dig her up. and she almost got away with it, too! poor thing. even more heartbreaking was the scene with her and her mom

7 - hayden:

there's a theory floating around that hayden was already dead and that's why she keeps coming back...but that doesn't make sense to me, lol. i think she's a crazy 21 year old not in check of her hormones (esp since getting pregnant) that met an untimely (but AWESOME) demise at the hands of someone who didn't deserve to exact revenge on her. ugh she drives me crazy though! *shakes her* gonna be interesting how they work her further into the story, having shown up at the door and all. i'm just wondering how much she's gonna show up since her body's on the property, and if she'll look different to vivien if/when she sees her a la moira or if she'll just look like herself. OH and LOL @ headshots having a double meaning

i'm sure there's a ton more that i wanna share with you guys but i kinda have work to do...seeing as how i'm at work and all lmao

man how do you do those spoiler thingies?? lol id totally do lots of my rants that way for Anyone who hasnt seen Any episodes...but then Again im tghe type of person who insists on reading the last page of A book AND that people tell me how A movie ends while im watching it lol so i love spoilers...i Am questioning the whole moira deal though...from what i remember she did NOT look At All like she wanted to be with constances shot man...it kinda makes me think that moira Appears to be young And lustful to men because she was perceived that way which is what lead to her (in my opinion Anyway) being taken Advantage of/Almost raped when constance walked in...so not only is she bound to the house but her spirit has become A sort of slave to others (constances? the houses?) perception of her...?

they *did* sleep together once before that scene. she said she was lonely but they still did it. so maybe it wasn't a habit, per se, but it wasn't completely unwanted either. the way constance walked in all calm cool and collected before unleashing her cold rage suggests that this is not a surprise to her...also the fact that she says that he's broken her heart for the last time...again i point to her declaration made to addie about not sharing her affections with any other woman. but that's just me.

ps did anyone read any of those entertainment weekly long recaps?? they really are worth looking through!

sooo glad i was right About tate being constances son lol  And its basically confirmed that he was some sort of jeremy type school killer (i say jeremy since he seems like hes the 90s era kid And well, pearl jam is A fitting title for him i reckon) Although After last nights ep. im starting to feel A bit more empathy for tate than i originally had, And see him less As A demonic sadistic killer And more of A troubled teen needing help not knowing where to turn to get Any type role now...but that could change:) Addies death is way too sad for me...i liked seeing constance crying And putting makeup on her At the morgue though because As cruel And punishing As she was to Addie i Always believed that shge loved her in her own odd way, she did keep Addie in A time where most parents were told to institutionalize downs children, And she did give in to her request to be A pretty girl for halloween, Albeit with A lot of fighting And A mask, but still...i truly believe she truly loved Addie...but now to some of the bigger questions, like just how close were her And tate in Age? the dead cheerleader said she was supposed to be 34 years old, im trying to remember but i think when violet was putting makeup on Addie she Asked her how old she wa And i THINK Addie said 34, it was def in the 30s though, so was Addy At the same high school As tate? were they both picked on And made fun of? was tate protecting his sister when he killed the popular kids? who insisted they NEVER DID ANYTHING TO TATE???...Also has Anyone else picked up on the two children theme yet? dr. charles wife's ghost mentioned it to vivien when vivien said she was pregnant, the 2 twins were killed in the house, And now Addie And tate Are somehow bound to the house As well...And we now know for A fact thanks to last nights ending that yes indeed everyone is bound And stuck in this house, but the why is hidden...As well As the rubber mans identity! possibly hes the doctor?

don't come here much anymore but every once in a while I do check out the current threads. I decided to check into this one because I've been watching this show.
Anyways, I was reading your replies and at first I thought you had maybe a broken keyboard that caused you to capitalize all your As but then I noticed you only do it on the beginning of words but As within a word aren't capitalized. So.... just curious, why? It's kinda annoying to read like that so is there a reason you don't use a small A in the beginning of a word?


and on topic, I haven't watched the last show yet so I'll refrain from reading the spoilers for that one but I like the ideas going around here
