Dorms tend to be cheaper. For a reserved 8 person room it's about $25 a person per night. Also there is only 10% down, the rest at check-in, and, very important, Chicago has a 15% tax that is NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE ... I guess that trips people up. So keep that in mind smile.gif. Here's the website for it: http://www.chicago.aaeworldhotels.com/ and the best website for information and reviews: http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.p...l/Chicago/28254

You can find a bunch more websites with reviews by googling "AAE Chicago Parthenon," too. I just called the hostel and all of their new construction (I guess new bathrooms and stuff) was finished 2 weeks ago, so the $10 parking per day is available again. The other hostels had a much higher rate, some had it as $30 a day.

Here's is the CTA link: http://www.transitchicago.com/

Here's the Lawrence Station timeline (It is a 24 hour station): http://www.transitchicago.com/assets/1/red...es/Lawrence.pdf

Here's the complete train schedule: http://www.transitchicago.com/travel_infor.../schedules.aspx

The easiest way I've found to plan your public transit is using Google transit. It's endorsed by the CTA, too. Here's the link: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/transit/#mdy

We are planning on going as well - I am bringing my daughter again and maybe one other person.

Since we are coming from Ohio, I have no clue about that area. Does anyone have hotel suggestions? I searched online but I didn't see anything close.

Erin and I are staying at a hostel, which works out for us because we're staring a few days before we also head to Detroit.

Jazmyn and I are staying at the AAE Parthenon Hostel. It has a pretty good rate for being within blocks of Chicago Union station, Willis Tower, and close to the Loop. The reviews I've been reading on many sites give it a good reputation for being quiet, not a party place. I've been reading reviews on all websites I can find, since I've never stayed in a Hostel before. It's in Greek Town, and it has private one bed and up rooms with semi private bathrooms. It's not frilly, but it's suppose to be a clean, safe place to rest your head.

It's not exactly close to the venue, but it's 5 min from a subway stop that is a half hour or so ride that will take you to Lawrence Station, which is right outside from the venue: http://www.yelp.com/map/lawrence-station-chicago ... The station's street address is 1117 W Lawrence Ave and Aragon's is 1106 West Lawrence Avenue. You can purchase discounted passes from CTA, too. Online, even, and I believe the postage is free to ship to your home.

Thanks for this info. Am possibly coming as well. Couple of questions 1. a dormitory room is cheaper yes? If so are people here on this thread willing to share a dorm room with other Echelon even if they dont "know" them.
2. Does the train/subway run all night? This was a problem in the UK when there were signings as people couldnt stay because they had to catch a train. (Not sure if there will be a signing sad.gif )

Ferro can you add me as a maybe please. Perhaps if there is a link to said hostel can it be put on main page, also train times if they stop. Thanks

As I will be traveling alone would appreciate as much info as possible or if someone wants a companion for the day.
