Travel:
Journey Planner
The Manchester Evening News Arena is located in the City Centre, on the corner of Trinity Way, Hunts Bank and Great Ducie Street, and is adjacent to Victoria Station. For Sat Nav systems our postcode is M3 1AR.
Travel
If travelling by car, the Manchester Evening News Arena is situated on the A56, 3 miles from Junction 17 of the M62.
Parking
The official NCP on-site multi-storey car park has a capacity of 900. In addition, approximately 3,500 recognised NCP spaces within 10 minutes walk serve the Manchester Evening News Arena. Please beware of unauthorised car parks and street parking. We advise anyone with walking difficulties to arrive as early as possible and use the car parks at the Arena, Shudehill or the Printworks.
Useful parking info from TequilaSam...The NCP at the Arena is a lot of money. £8 last time I went. There is a car park across the road which is only £3 for the day...old Boddingtons Brewery site.
Public Transport
If you're planning a trip to the MEN Arena - day or night - then you'll find public transport is the best way to travel from all over Greater Manchester, and beyond. The Manchester Evening News Arena is one of the easiest places to get to by public transport; buses, trains and trams drop you only minutes away from the entrance.
Buses: Many buses serve Cannon Street and Victoria bus stations and many more stop within easy walking distance in the city centre. If you're staying out late then Nightbus services on Friday and Saturday nights run directly past the Manchester Evening News Arena. Manchester's free city centre Metroshuttle service also links Victoria station with other areas of the centre.
Trams: Manchester's excellent Metrolink systems passes right by the Manchester Evening News Arena, stopping at Victoria. Services run from Bury, Altrincham and Manchester Piccadilly rail station, with connections to Eccles. Work is currently underway to replace all the tram track in Manchester city centre so, at the moment, only services on the Bury line run direct to Victoria. However, two bus links are running to and from the city centre tram stops that are closed during the work, which will last until the Autumn.
Trains: Victoria rail station is directly underneath the Manchester Evening News Arena and Piccadilly rail station is only a short Metrolink ride to Victoria Metrolink tram stop.

Places To Stay:
Hatters Hostel
http://www.hattersgroup.com/Manchester/
Walking distance from both Piccadilly Train Station and the MEN Arena. I've never been in but hear it's alright
YHA Hostel
http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/n...els/manchester/
This is a little bit further away - still walking distance but maybe about 20/30 minutes away. Again I've never been in. If people want me to scope it out then I can pop down there at some point.
Holiday Inn
http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/mch...tel-Information
I've stayed here before and whilst the area is nothing to write home about, the hotel was really nice. It's a bit out of town so not walking distance but it does have parking for those of you who will drive to Manchester and then a taxi to the MEN would be around £6/£7.
Another option would be if a few of you got together and got an apartment for the night - I've done this when I've been away with a few people. There's some services apartments in the other half of my apartment building:

Camera & Prohibited Items Information:
Cameras: I've never had a problem with my handheld pocket camera.
Website says...Small bags are permitted but may be subject to searches and, at some events, may be removed from standing floor ticket-holders for collection afterwards. The unauthorised use of cameras, video or any other form of recording equipment is strictly prohibited. 35mm cameras are permitted at most events but professional cameras with a detachable zoom lens are not. At certain events, the promoter may request a ban on all photography and signs to this effect will be displayed at all entrances.
No food or drink is to be brought into the venue.
Banners are also prohibited.
Thanks to bibswendy for this and the hotel information.
Bag Storage: Foxtrotlima has kindly offered to store people's bags as she is staying opposite the venue. Please PM her directly if you would like to do this.
