We do have a life, things to do, jobs, and no, we don't have loads of cash, surprisingly. So, when we decide to put the money into a concert, it's probably that we thought it was really really worth the extra work hours or the other effort we put in to get the amount necessary for both train/plane and concert tickets.
There it is: I am probably never going to see you in concert. Why? Because I can not expect you to show up next time I go through the trouble of getting the train or flights arrangement to come see you. You guys know very well that many people will be coming from places more or less far away from the venue.
It may sound stupid from where you're standing, but let me tell you that from where I am looking at it, my bank account is telling me I made a huge mistake and my general motivation just left town.
If anyone else felt the same way, they know now that they're not alone. If it's not the case, I'm glad to see that the economic crisis is not yet reaching every one. That would be the good news.
As for the ticket, don't worry, I gave it to my friend who I know for sure will have a great time.
Again, I apologise for this "unhappy" post. Don't think I don't realise you must have had perfect reasons to do what you did, but that doesn't change the fact that it may have a negative impact on some of us, "fans", and this had to be said. Well, at least I had to express this.
Thanks for listening (reading) and have a great time touring and make people feel like they're worth the trouble, because they are, really.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you WILL see them and you WILL travel. I'm sure I will. I didn't lose as much as others did, I just lose the money for the trainticket and hopefully I can sell my Cologne ticket. But I AM pissed and not just because of me. Some lost thousands of dollars and for what? A tv-interview and a listeningparty?
Whatever... I don't think they care but I like to think that they do.

No need for a whole new thread. Not going to change the facts.
And bottom line is *hopefully* people will think very hard before planning pricey travel again. Because fact is you may lose. It is not the first and likely not the last time this will happen.

When you think you buy tix for a very special show like Köln in an exclusive little church you probably want to spend a lot of money for the tix. People paid for this show more than 200 Euro for one ticket. It´s not worth the money in the minute you- the band - changed the location; and changing the day also is a point everybody wrote about.
Guys from the band: How would you feel spending so much money for a dream and this dream will be destroyed by your favorit band you loved so much before?
You always tell us, how important your fans are for you. This moment it looks like you give a shit about your fans.
I lost not that much money like others did, but I lost way more: the excitement for seeing you now.
I really hope this excitement will come back soon enough for the Berlin gig.
BTW- I love "This Is War"

But.
I'm losing money now. Lots of money - for me. And more - I'll have to give them back to the people I borrowed them from.
But still hopefully going to Paris. It seems to be more important than debts, money and all this stuff.
And I can't blame the band. I don't wanna blame them and I don't. I don't think they are very happy with this situation. I think they're upset too.
Maybe I'm just too optimistic and want to believe that they do care about us. Maybe I'm wrong. But that's the way I think.
Hope this re-schedule is final. *gone to fight with the airlines office*

now its all past. i cant change traintickets but i can still sleep in one of my friends house and we will have a nice day. without all the others, without band, without concert.
i feel sorry for all those who lost much more money than i did. cologne and paris are nice citys for sightseeing but not in november.
hope that the others have a lots of fun but i saw in the roll call that not even the half can manage it now...
for the future maybe the logistical part should not be the last to be checked (we are faster with planning than you are)

Same here... they give the idea that they do care... I hope it's not just an idea... I really do!
Thanks for the comment, it seemed no one else felt somewhat the same way. Now, I may selfishly feel better, and yes, I will travel and take a chance again, just not right now :S

You're probably right about the band not being happy about the whole situation. Personnally, I learn my lesson and I won't let this happen again, I'm not putting my money in that kinda thing again. Too risky. I took a bet and I lost. I guess I0m a poor loser on this one :S
And the feeling of excitment disappearing in a flash... that was just too sad.
Good luck with the airlines office fight, and I hope all turns out for the best for you.

Don't worry, the next time I post, if I do, it will be on a happier note ;P
(PS: I should have called this topic "was it a dream?" he he he. just kidding. I'm done now.)

OK stepping off my soap box now.
Well, I had a crap year too so these concerts were meant to cheer me up. So don't judge me when you know nothing about the situation of others.

I haven't been around in a long time. Sporatically posting here and there but not really able to take the time to come and post with all of you as usual for some time now.
Meri, I can empathize on the breast cancer part of your post. I wish God speed to your friend.
My Twin sister was diagnosed and I too had to have a Prophylactic Double Mastectomy.
It was the hardest decision of my life, but my life depended on it and I made a difficult choice. Doing well and in the process now as my sister is too of reconstruction.
Identical Twins + 1 diagnosis in one + family risk factor = 95% increase in risk factory. Not worth the risk...Nough said on that. I understand.
And I am so sorry for the loss of your father, may he rest in peace. My condolences, hon.
As far as the Tour, I am so sorry to hear that so many were hard hit with not being able to go to the shows that were changed or whatever happened.
I am so very sorry especially to those who have never seen the Band, Live.
I didn't know that all this was taking place.
Yes I do think it warranted posting another thread for those who really got hurt in all this. They have the right to vent.
And this is the place to ask the band questions, isn't it?
drakazh, I'm so sorry.
I hate reading posts like yours. It's very sad.
My heart goes out to all of you. The financial crisis has hit me and mine very hard and I'm not even sure I will see the band IF they decide to hit the north east of the US.
Most likely NOT. But at least I've seen them. Although I am on permanent disability with spinal injuries and can no longer work, I do remember how hard it is to work, save, and than pray that in the middle of it all, a dream hopefully will come true. Even for a moment. I know the disappointments and it still saddens me today.
People work way too hard these days to lose what they've earned in a split second. And planning trips to see the band is not a definite thing as it has happened to you and your countrymen/women. Another dream taken away.
Again. I'm so sorry for all of you who are so hurt and have lost so much. I hope in some other way it's made up to you all.
I really feel bad for you.
