Hey guys -

Jared mentioned on KROQ that he'd written around 120 songs for This is War & eventually gotten down to 20-30 with potential for the album. Since 12 will be on the album, I'm just curious what happens to the "leftover" songs. Do you plan to release more in the future? Save them for another album? Use them as an influence but not in their entirety? Or do you feel that when you return to songs written a while back they are no longer relevant to where you are at the time? I find that often when I look back at stuff I've written in the past, it's just not right anymore. So, just curious how you feel about that aspect of the composition process.

Thanks - RR

Edit: Oops - Apparently there's already a thread about this here ... War in the Trash Didn't notice it due to the funny topic title. Sorry for the duplication.

haha like all leftovers, depending on how long they have been there it could be nourishing or something you cannot recognize.

*snort* You're making me feel like I should go clean out my fridge. Who knows - maybe I'll find a brilliant novel in there or something! Hmm. smile.gif

Defrosted songs, I wonder if they taste the same as when they were first produced? But the feeling of an album coming on may just be food poisoning.

Haha, bubble and squeak reminds of that steak crawling across the counter top in Poltergeist.
