They have to sell their music to survive. Although my assumption is that you mean 'don't sell out' - being popular doesn't mean "selling out" by the way.
Mars doesn't 'work for the echelon' anymore than they 'work for the people' since last I checked, a) the echelon was part of 'the people' and b )I think they make music for themselves that they hope others enjoy.
I personally don't believe that 'Echelon' is a lifestyle but uh...yay for you I guess. I agree that they should retain their origins, though.
That post had entirely too many single and double quotations. Excuse that.

I like how everytime someone says something negative about Tokio Hotel or the singer people get so defensive, while with other bands that doesn't happen much.
you're all pissed she insulted them but didn't even care to quote Green Day. lol

Y carumba.
First of all - I hope that they NEVER start making music for the Echelon, the people, or ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES. It's their band, their vision, and they should do what they want and feel works. If the Echelon or anyone else likes it, HOORAY. If they don't, oh well. MARS DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU, ME, OR ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES. Got it?
And one could make the argument that they joined the mainstream a long time ago due to the number of hits they had with ABL, including a number one hit with FY, but... I think (hope) you get the picture.
Echelon is a lifestyle for you?

You know, that's exactly the problem. I don't know if thinking's overrated these days, or if it would cost them too much energy they don't have to burn because they don't eat at all, or if they hope the band will reply to them and marry them for opening new pointless threads, or blah blah blah - but whatever the reason is - they just DON'T think.

Yes, because it didn't include any porn and/or violence in the OP

Besides poor spelling, word choice and grammar it doesn't really include anything offensive (unless you are a Tokio Hotel or Green Day fan). The rest is semantics.
I find it interesting that in a sub-forum where people can post their questions for the band, the most responses come from other forum users, correcting or criticizing the question or message or giving their own answers.

them = 30 Seconds To Mars.
You didn't understand what I said. She was kind of comparing 30stm with Tokyo Hotel, which is, imo, an insult. Btw, I hate Tokyo Hotel and love Green Day. That's why I didn't care to quote Green Day. It would be a good thing, again imo, to compare 30stm with Green Day.

Holy shit...this has been the problem for quite sometime now. All over the board...and not just when it is a question for the band.
I don't mind the OP. It's obvious that she used a translator and those thing blow. "Echelon" is a lifestyle for some people, they prolly only call it that after stumbling across the band and the 'messages' that they as fans hear/see and relate to (or hopefully they relate. I hope most don't only become green or 'echelon' as a following. You'd hope they possess this sense already, but whatever works to make it WORK, works.)... realizing that they live or want to live this way.
My first... 'messages' were to free yourself of the bullshit, fuck what they say it is supposed to be and do as you are what you believe in, and to find your mark because nobody can find it for you. Hopefully you (and all of us) will live and be healthy along your journey and maybe join hands with others who are on the somewhat same paths to 'freedom'. Maybe this will be what it was supposed to be, someday."
BUT SOME of that original message, or what I got anyway, is lack anymore. There are sooo many more followers than their are believers. You can follow the yellow brick road but you must have your own homebase. See yourself as you are, find yourself... not what you think others want to. I guess if somebody finds themself believing that this is a 'cult' than that is what the fuck they want to do. The day that Jared tells us to drink little green drinks and lay in a bed...
At least she didn't ask them to sign her tits on the way out..she just told them to keep believing in themselves and their origin(al message)...don't sell out. It was just a bit wordy.

Remember Jared's words: some people will be surprised so, we're warned.

I'm fine with people posting their questions, but I'm not fine with people opening new threads just to tell their opinion without really asking anything. Why not use one of the already existing threads, then? As long as it's not about something completely different, you could still post in one of the already existing Purgatory threads, and in case the discussion regarding that post takes a completely different direction, you could still open a new thread about it.
Btw I don't think anyone was really correcting or criticizing, for me those are the normal comments and reactions. If you don't want anyone to comment on what you have to say, don't open a thread, but send the band / a mod an email or message or whatever.

At least she didn't ask them to sign her tits on the way out...

-the band doesn't work for the Echelon actually we kind of work for them
-I think once you sell a million+ records you're mainstream but it doesn't have to be bad
It might sound cliché but I think a band should only make music for themselves. It dosn't matter if anyone else likes it as long as they still are passionate about creating it. Making money should just be a plus not the priority.
