I was just messing about with my little cousin(4) the other day and a beautiful lie came on to Scuzz
and it was weird how he just stopped playing and sat and watched it because of the awesome scenery that was in it,
(he likes penguins a lot and just thinks where there is ice he will find them) and it got me thinking about why the video was
shot and just what his children could be missing out on.

So like 30 mins later i sat him down and told him a story and it kind of went something like this:

A long, long time ago, even before the dinosaurs, there was this bad stuff in the air (carbon dioxide) and along came these very tiny little creatures,
as the sun shone down on them the creature very slowly started to each the bad stuff that was floating around. As time went on the creatures got bigger, other plants started to grow and suck up the bad stuff to keep inside of them so only the good stuff could float around and make everyone happy. When the plants died they went underground and so did the bad stuff as well.
After many years, people came along and they was all happy, but one day someone (at which point he asked who and i looked at him blank) was digging really really deep into the ground and they found the old plants which had the bad stuff inside them. The person ran around all happy giving it to everyone to make fire with, but as they did so they put the bad stuff that all the little plants and animals had worked so hard to put into the ground, back into the air.
They did see at first and people started to get sick, but still they kept burning the old plants, in the end there was so much bad stuff that everyone and everything got sick and died.

He then turned to look at me, looking all confused and said why did they make the fire if they knew they would get sick?
all i could say to him was people are silly like that, but its the ones who see the sickness who are trying to stop them.

Its weird if a boy of 4 can see the problem why the hell cant everyone else, i know we all know, but still we walk around burning the old plants letting the bad stuff out, is it me or is it like running through a mine field blindfolded.

That is quite a horrific story for a child of 4, even though it is true. wink.gif

I don't get why some people cannot see it. If only we could get people to open their mind up to the possibility of making just a little change. If enough people do it, in time, that little will go a long way to delay what is happening right now

It's good to tell kids about these things but please keep in mind that they are just children and they can't understand these things properly. I know because I have worked with kids.

They might get scared and confused if you can't explain things so they would understand. It might even cause nightmares. So be careful what and how you teach children.
