Japan hunts more than 700 whales for year under the excuse of "scientific research". The meat of the species that are targets of that hunt always ends up in markets and tables, served as extravagant delights in expensive restaurants. If whales killing continues, within 20 years there will be more animals such as these.
But why i'm speaking of whales when there are hundreds of other animals being violently killed? The whales are just one of the worst examples, and an animal that may soon cease to exist.
Probably everybody is already sick of listening to this conversation but the fact is that the hunting of whales, elephants and many others continue to exist for purposes almost purely profit

I agree, this is a very important topic to be dicussed. The show Whale Wars has a website where you can learn how to help and make a difference from your home. Granted, anyone who has seen the show knows that it's a really hard thing to stop, and our laws make it quite uneficent, but starting fundraisers and protests etc helps people be informed.

Here's this website if anyone wants it.

is the show Whale wars having any postive effect on cutting down on the hunting or are they turning into Greenpeace and just causing more problems?

Well, i agree that it's not the most effective way to save whales ever, but apparently the japanese whalers were down 360some whales this year....for them that's about 360000000 bucks .....i think thats a great improvement. And one ship can't do much, but they are trying they're hardest to get the message out, and if enough of us retaliate, maybe the government will step in and help out

Whales are beaufiful creatures graceful peaceful. To see on in the wild is one of the most wonderful sights to see.

We here have them migrate to our waters every year with their young and the japanese killed 679 minke whales and one fin whale this year well below the expected 935 whales thanks to all ppl who do give a damn .
