Save Wildlife Habitat and Reduce Global Warming: http://bit.ly/3RWeL
22 minutes ago from web

Global warming poses an unparalleled threat to America's national security, the economy as well as our wellbeing and the health of the natural environment. Nearly 20% of annual greenhouse gas emissions come from deforestation, primarily from tropical deforestation in developing countries. Currently, the world is losing native forest at the rate of a New York State per year. The United States must play a leading role in addressing this issue as we move toward comprehensive climate legislation. Please urge your members of Congress to support H.R.1790, the Forest Carbon Emissions Reduction Act, and to ensure the overall environmental integrity of a global cap on emissions while saving the amazing biodiversity in the rainforests.

Twitter updates sent out by the band (whether from the band, jared, shannon, tomo or the abl twitter) are generally posted in the twitter topic in the Pantheon.

Though maybe not a bad idea to post ABL updates here instead. Could be an idea. Maybe Helios can change the title to ABL TWITTER UPDATES or something like that...

EDIT:
laugh.gif that was quick - pinned and name change! Nice!

Tourism has a paradox at its core: it has revealed natural wonders that humanity realizes it cannot allow to disappear, but at the same time humanity has put those very natural wonders in danger, say experts.

Here's a discussion concerning the Baltic Sea:

I posted a number of tweets directly to @ablorg but haven't seen or heard anything about them being forwarded.

1. Gap Clothing and Levi Jeans dump toxic waste and poison locals: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/08/02/...in5205416.shtml

2. As above: http://tinyurl.com/ndhxvp

3. Miss Landmine Cambodia - Pageant contest for landmine survivors. The Cambodian government won't allow the contest to be aired on their television or promoted in their press, so its gone internet and global. The Government feels it is innappropriate. I have done the same Adeena and I know others send to @ablorg different links and such... maybe once there is a new mod for the abl.org stuff then some of what we send will be retweeted for others to see...

My hope is that by us retweeting what @ablorg post that others will see or read something to help spark them on the road to help save this planet or see there is something simple they can do to make a change for the better.
