Edit 5/7/09: This article won 1st place thanks to votes from this message board (see bottom of p. 3 for details (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

Some of you may already have read my article about 30 Seconds To Mars (I've had the link in my sig for a couple days now and have sent the link to several people here).

I just found out that voting is open to all (I thought only members of the site could vote *is blond*).

There are 15 articles (they call them "Hubs") nominated. You can vote here: http://hubpages.com/_findoutmore/hub/HubNuggets-Overloaded

To Vote (you can only vote once): Click the link above and scroll down below the links to all the articles (which include descriptions). Each article will have a button you can click on it to choose the article you want to vote for (you should see the percentages for each article after you vote)

NOTE: The "Rate it" (up or down) at the bottom of the article itself (right above the Comments section) has nothing to do with the voting (it's a way for the site to monitor quality control).

If my "Hub" is one of the top 5 "a HubNugget" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) , the link to the article will be sent in the site's weekly newsletter (they have over 60,000 members). Obviously, you do not have to vote for mine if you do not wish to or want to vote for another one: "don't vote against anyone just enjoy the songsarticles!!!!!! haaaaaa" -30STM via Twitter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I actually didn't vote for mine (I'm weird that way, if I was running for President or something, I probably would, but this isn't quite on that level, lol!)--I'm not gonna tell you which one I did vote for though...

Anyway, thank you for your consideration,
Keli (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Edit: While this article was inspired by the Glyphics Assault and all of you here, I am not submiting it for the contest because I can earn ad revenue from it and I did not feel that was in the spirit of the contest.

(also edited for clarification)

Congrats Keli!

I don't seem to be able to vote though... I see where it says 'this is where you vote' or something like that, but then I can't chose anything. ::is confused:: Am I having a blond moment or what?

Thank you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . The weekly contest runs from Wed. to Wed. so I think you can vote until at least Tuesday but not sure (will check on that).

Not sure, did you scroll all the way down (below the links and the descriptions) to where each article has a button you can click to select it? Once I voted I could see the percentages for each article...

I could see the percentages as soon as the page loaded, but there was never an option to select one and vote for it.... Maybe Canadians aren't allowed to vote?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Keli, did you change the link in the OP, as now I could actually vote and then see the %.
First I thought voting it up was the actual vote thing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

@ayousu Try the link now from the OP, it should be ok (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) No, there are people from all over the world on that site... are you sure you didn't vote? I couldn't see the percentages for each article until I voted for one. I tweeted this link earlier too... did you click the link in my tweet before I posted this thread? Weird, I got what ayousu was seeing when I first logged on. But at least I cast my vote now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I have no idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) . I couldn't see any percentages until I voted, but I log in as a member. Maybe that only happens when you're not logged in as a member.

But thanks for trying again! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Also, ftr, I have absolutely no control over the "Related Hubs" that show "My List of the Sexiest Men Alive" and/or "The Top 50 Hottest and Sexiest Male Celebrities" that keep showing up in that section (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) .

Still not sure if I'm amused or irritated by that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Edit: Thank you Laura!

the article is really well done and I enjoyed reading it. I also read a couple of the others that I found the titles interesting also. I do like your writing style.

I wish you the best with this one, and I think it's a good thing people can only vote once. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Thank you Becky, and I'm glad you read some of the other ones, there are some really excellent articles there ("The Practical Guide To PMS for Men" is really funny). One reason I chose HubPages is because of the professional look of the site itself (some look really really cheesy) and the fact that they emphasize quality of writing.

I appreciate that, thank you--writing professionally is something I've always wanted to do and just never got around to it before. I love it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . And LOL at the bolded, I KNOW, RIGHT! I would've felt bad about posting this if it were not the case...
