I want to launch a project to teach every child of school age to sing ABL and use it to get the "eco" mesage out there. To bring the issues of climate change, how we can make simple changes that make a difference into the classroom. I want children to know that they as individuals can make a difference and the choices they make now may effect their future, from choosing local not imported foods to reducing the amount of resources they waste. The simple act of singing a song can have an amazingly powerful effect and gives each school a platform to teach an age appropriate message.

I strongly believe in the process of winning over the kids, who in turn can "preach" to the adults. I have taught every child in my school ABL and asked them to do simple things to make a difference like shutting the outer doors, turning off lights, walking to school even if it is raining! It's working! They love the song and would sing it every assembly if I let them.

And that's just one school. Think of the impact we could have if every school in the UK was involved? . . . . then on to Europe, US and even the World. (moah-ha-ha)
Help me get this noticed PLEASE....I need J, SH and T's support to let me run with this. rolleyes.gif
Many wheels have been set in motion.......the musicians, singers, even studio and a means to get it published and distributed. I have a dedicated team just raring to go.
The Time to Act is NOW.

Wow, I think this is a great idea!
Im substituting at a school time to time, and I think I could show them the video as well, and talk with them about eco stuff etc.

I think the kids today are more open to the hole enviroment/eco things then some adults. Some of the kids I have get to lurn is very ecofriendly thinking and they try to get thier parents to be it as well. Its amazing.

To be honest, I don't think the video had enough of a message to be using it as a teaching tool. Most of the shots in it were beautiful, not shocking.

I think something like Linkin Park's video, among others I've seen but cannot recall, would better send a message.

Do we have to shock to get a message across?

When I worked in Children after school club, I showed them ABL and told how the ice there is melting and so on. They were really interested. I will definitely show the video when I have an opportunity to work with kids again.

Thats very cool!
I want to do something like that to, but I dont have so much money to give away these months.
My class (in I school I went to some years ago) we actually adopted one tiger and one had one child In africa we sended money to. But now when the class is no more does our old teacher have it.

I think its a great idea to do something like that in a school class, just someone keep it up when they stop school.

For the education in school for the enviroment, I think we need to educate the young students more about the enviroment. I know that we here in Sweden is pretty good at it, but I wounder how much the majority of kids take it serious. And how can we make kids more intressted? Im myself not so old though, Im soon 20.

This is just..THUMBS UP, hun.

I can def tell u're a very dedicated person by getting kids involved in this project, and personally I think that the younger you are learning about these things, the more natural things will come for you as u're growing up and are an adult..

In sweden u're taught about these things from preschool, hence to why u rarely see small kids throwing junk in nature...I've never really thought about that until now. Being "nice" to nature just becomes part of who u are.

so THUMBS UP!

Great idea Sera! I believe it's really important to educate children about respect our Planet. I've got a nephew, is only 6 years old but each time I can I try to teach him something, like the little things (don't lay on the ground a handkerchief or the paper of a sweet).

I truly support your project!

This is a really great idea!

I think, kids are a lot more open to things they're told and will rather act accordingly the things they've learned than adults. I'm a teenager myself and I think the hardest part would always be catching peoples' attention, especially if you also plan to work with "older" students, who often have different interests in their personal lives than the environment.
