I suppose I already asked the question in the title, so...yeah. I do believe that you should, especially considering that you're on the verge of releasing a new album.

It would do many things. First and foremost, it would keep that forum from becoming convoluted with chat threads. People would be able to focus on ACTUAL street team ideas. And honestly, it'll bring some nostalgia for those of us that have been here for a long time.

All is good.

I think it would be a good idea to bring back the password for Echelon. If your not, you don't need to be in the threads..

good question.

I was in here before and dindīt really know what to say about that.
Donīt you still need to be registered to read the Echelon?
Therefore you have a password. Can someone tell me how this was before?

You can't read the Echelon if you're not registered. It says this if you try: "Sorry, but the ECHELON area is for registered users only. You must signup in order to read and participate!". But that is pretty useless option since anyone can join here. Separate password would be good idea. I don't visit the European Echelon thread very often because it's just chatting. There's nothing wrong with chatting but the purpose of these threads is to rally the troops and start planning the war..

I don't know how this used to work, but how do the band/mods exactly know you're part of the street team or not? I guess with 34.000 people it would be hard to tell who is really promoting or not.
And remember this forum will much probably get deleted, there's already a new one being made here. So I don't think they'll change anything in this forum if we're about to move. wink.gif

You would click on the Echelon forum and it would bring you to a seperate login page. The forum had a completely different login ID and password. You would use your normal SN on the forum, just needed different login info.

So no, nothing like it is now. At all.

But still anyone can register for that or should this be for only some users?

Actually thus far that right there is only a mailing list, no forum is getting created. That being said, they may end up creating a new one, we never know.

I think this is actually a good question they should answer. I barely even go into the Echelon forum as it is cause that place is a total mess.

Maybe because this forums' URL still has EMI in it?
It would be better to stop the Jared fans using promotional posters as free pornography

I brought this up in the kyte chat as well to see what people thought about it (combined with some structure, gnahghuhg).

Despite the inevitable bitching that might go on, I'd actually like to see this happen. I'm hoping that they actually structure their street team again - kind of like how it is in Europe, with actual point people for specific regions, etc. Some sort of internal org chart ot something, hahaa. Obviously anyone can promote whenever they want, but this way we'd have a better network of who is getting the message, and how it's getting passed along. New people would have point people to go to in order to get information.

I've noticed that we seem to do well, as fans, with some sort of direction and organization.

So if that structure happens, then a password protected forum to actually discuss ideas would probably be a good idea.

How they're going to pick the people? That's the tougher part. Could be from the boards, could be from an application? I don't know what I think yet.

ok now I seem to get the whole idea with password etc. We here in Germany have our street team leaders who organize everything for promo and let you know via the Echelon. Still everyone can go there to open up new topics and read everything.

That would be an excellent idea. I'd actually stick around more often if that's put into effect.. again.

Why the fuck was it stopped to begin with?

I think its a great idea. The reason I joined these boards was to help promote 30, and when I realised that didn't seem to be happening, I was more than a little disappointed. The prospect of the Echelon getting organised and ready for action again excites me muchly. smile.gif
