I have a silly question, but I need to ask, no matter if I show to the whole mars family how fool I am!
A system exist in France for new singers and new bands to be produced by people who love their music. Why 30 STM wouldn’t become the first famous band in the world produced by their fans? You would be free, and then you don’t give a F… about EMI and their 30 million dollars.

I have 2 ideas:
1-Everyone who want to produce you can give you as much as they want to help you record any and as many album you want to create
2-We all could by your albums before they come out and then receive a particular edition with added songs.

Here is the french site (as well written in french tongue.gif ) you can get inspired of: http://www.mymajorcompany.com/
I don’t know if something similar exist in USA or anywhere else throught the world, but I think it’s interresting and I just wanted to attract your attention on it to create something new! I’m sure you can do something great with this information (If you ever read it one day! )

PS to everyone who read my post: please do not listen to the songs on this site, cause this is not really good and definitly not representative of what we listen in France.

Many hugs from Paris. Bye!

G.

smile.gif I don't know exactly how, but it works in France for unknown singers. I don't have any idea how it could be readjusted to great bands, because I am not a specialist and I don't know what the business around famous artist sounds like.
My post is just here to initiate a reflexion about it. biggrin.gif

I see a lot of 'No, not good idea'... But, where is your argumentation???
I'd like to have a little bit more explanation about the 'No this is not possible' thing!
If, of course, it's possible for you to do so..

Oh, btw... Welcome to the universe, Galou ! wink.gif

It may not be a bad idea. It's worth checking into. If there is any legion of fans who could pull it off it would definitely be us.

Yes.

I like the idea, but I don't know about it. I wouldn't have the slightest clue on how to go about something like this, so... unsure.gif

i think its an interesting idea, but like most everyone else, i dont know if it would work w/ 30stm.
theres tons of legalities and red tape to wade thru among other things.
not to mention, sounds like a france only thing.

over all its cool and i like that theres a system like this available, but im not entirely sure it applies here.

thank you for telling us about it tho, i had no idea some thing like this existed.

and welcome to the universe

Hey! heard about it on "Envoyé Special" I don't know if it could work but I don't think it's a bad idea.
PS : is it the site created by the son of Jean-Jaques Goldman? I heard the guy had earn a hell lot of money from his site.

"MyMajorCompany" is not the only webside that is doing this... There is another one that is now surfing on the wave of 'anybody can becom a music producer', ACAMUSIC.COM and this one is in english too.
See, it's not only a French thing... wink.gif

Of course, we do not know much about laws and reglementation and every country has different one's... But, why not giving it a try.

BTW, wasn't it the band's request to give them ideas?

1. a great idea
2. even though its great, i think they would want to work proffessionally rather than a whole buch of echelon ruin their final edit or recordings.
reason why is because each country has different db settings for their cds (db= Decibels) also there isn many on here that know how to run a studio or know how to record, edit, and master for that matter. but it was a great idea except for thos factors

Not that I have any talent in the field you're talking about, I would love to see this happen. I think there are some kinks in it though... I can't put my finger on anything detailed... I think that it may just be too grand an idea. If I figure out how to say what I'm thinking cohesively, I'll let you know. But like I said, love the thought of it.
