haha. You never know, it may be in one, somewhere.
I do believe that it is definitely our souls which make us who we are and eventually draw us to our soulmates(not just that of the romantic kind) and destiny and fun stuff like that. Our spirits guide us when we are lost, keep us going. But spirits may be broken ... which sucks.

The Spirit and the Soul is a very personal belief usually guided by individual faith.
Nephesh is Hebrew for "soul" it appears 750 times in the old testament
Gen 2:7 Man became a living soul
Deuteronomy 12:23 The blood is the soul. The soul is integral to life itself
In the old testament the soul stands for the living. A soul can be alive, grieve, worry, rejoice, peaceful, hate and die
The "spirit" in the old testament is Ruach in Hebrew. It appears 375 times
Mostly it means The Spirit of God or the spirit of individuals
It's the inspiration and motivational drive in a person's psyche. A person that is spiritually alive is filled with the holy spirit. A person can be spiritually dead
Isaiah 57:15 a spirit can be broken
Numbers 11:17 "The Spirit of Wisdom" is divine inspiration such as to the prophets
In the New Testament the soul and spirit transcend
Peter1 3:18 the Spirit and Flesh are seperate . The flesh is the way of Sin and the Spirit
is the new way of life to commune with God."when the flesh dies the spirit of God makes alive"
*I've witnessed death and the experience left a lasting impression that reaffirmed not only my
own faith but that of those that were with me.
Argueably, any religion will have it's own version of the soul and the spirit
and what happens to a persons soul after death.
A favorite quote:
The soul takes flight into a world that is invisible yet eternal but there arriving it is sure of bliss
~Plato

'If a knife had a soul, the act of cutting would be that soul, because 'cutting' is the essence of what it is to be a knife' - Aristotle[i]
Unlike the concept of souls, which are by definition eternal and usually believed to preexist the body, a spirit develops and grows as an integral aspect of the living being, therefore the spirit could be considered a seperate exsistence to that of the pre-existing or eternal soul because belief in souls is specific.
