umm, most of the people here were born after 1994.
Gen X is 70s-80s and that's where a fair few of us fit in (like me. ahem)... and it's not our fault. It's our parent's fault. Fucking breeders.

It isn't anyone's fault, is it? The systems we have inherited have always been flawed - that is what civilization is all about! We do the best we can and hope and pray that our children will do better.
When you are young, you can see how fucked up the world is, but you don't have the power to change anything - you are just a kid. Before you know it, you aren't a kid anymore but now you are relying on the system to feed you, cloth you, provide you shelter, keep you warm, and give you a sense of security in this always changing world. When your life needs these flawed systems to survive, it is scary to really address the change that needs to happen. Scary, and it's a lot of work. We all get lazy as we get older. Life is supposed to get easier, right?
Generation X is well placed with both experience and passion to take the reins during this transition. Everything is the way it needs to be. When people live their truth, change is inevitable. So all us 30-somethings out there can smile - we will not end up like our parents because for once, we have real power to make a positive difference!

As was said by the generation before. For every new advance there are a hundred problems in the system.
Not that we should go back to being tribal societies living off the land, exactly. We can't, shouldn't go back to a more simple way of life. I think our flaws as humans lie in our impatience (OMG I so suffer it!) and in our striving to leap that next big hill first we fail to plot our course soundly.
It's hard to do that when there's all that other stuff cluttering thoughts, though. Mortgage, payments, kids, how to get from work to home and maintain what you have while trying to get better. Not to mention distractions to de-stress... distractions are distracting. Go figure.
We have some power. I think we're doing something better than maintaining status quo. Hope we will. Optimism is not always my strong point.

^well said and I agree
we can be part of the problem or part of the solution. WE HAZ DA POWER NOW
Generation X = those born between 1964-1982
... and there are other variations of that. I remember when Gen X was first "defined" and the various birth years were being bounced around by the "experts" and my older baby boomer friend said you are too young to be in my generation and my younger definately Gen X friend said oh no you are too old to be in my generation and I kinda stood there going so what, I'm Gen WTF???
hahaa sorry... random.

Huh! Guess we are the 'Age unknown'- generation (see profiles), hehe!
And I know whose fault it all is: the nature! The very fact that the human beeings exist is an environmental disaster, isn't it?
But, yes, since we are here, we shouldn't make it worse! That's why I go by bicycle whenever it goes.
