What are the top reasons that guys would want to be in a rock band? I know there will be some obvious answers to this question, but I'm curious what you all will come up with.

If I wasn't doing it I'd probably be a terrorist.

I've got a lot of personal problems.

Isn't the main reason because there is an insatiable desire to share your vision with the world?
It's really about fame, money and girls? huh.gif

I think it's more about "fame", and "girls" when they start off at a very early teen-age. laugh.gif

ah, who knows. If know if I did it, It would be for the career, the experience, and to share my voice.

I think it would depend on the individual............I don't think there is a one size fits all answer to this. There would be the dipshit tossers who do it for the money, fame, girls and drugs. But I think there are also musicians out there who do it because it is their passion and their life.

Maybe yes, and maybe no. But, most guys (and don't jump on me about this guys) do it for the girls. Groupies. I know personally almost every guy I grew up with and went to school with picked up an instrument, because they figured it would help them get girls. And, unfortunetly majority of them kept up with it so someday they could have tons of money and groupies. It's unfortunate this happens. But, with everything, there are the true artists and those in it for selfish, poor reasons.

Interesting....most of the responses posted, I expected. I really thought with today's culture the shallow reasons listed would out weigh the noble, but it seems to be about 50/50 so far. Thanks to all for your opinions cool.gif .

To sell out and start writing ballads to pull birds...

It'd also be cool to wear what you want and get away with it, without being called an Emo/Fag/Goth.

- I'd get to tour all the time, it must be one of the best ways not to have a life
- I could do lots of drugs and as long as I got through the shows, no-one would give a shit
- I could write cryptic messages on my blog (cause I'd def. have one) and people would read it and think it meant something important
- I'd get to make a video (note I, and it would awesome)
- When not touring I could sit in a studio and not have a life, with a valid excuse
- I wouldn't have to stand in line to see other shows
- When I don't want to talk to people they would assume it's because I'm too cool and not because I'm afraid of them
- People would listen when I had something to say
- Mum and dad could get early retirement and my brother wouldn't have to become a oil rig diver to make money
- People wouldn't mind me being weird
- I could have my hair done all the time

I want to jam out like a wild beast on guitars like "You Know Who" does. cool.gif I am so jealous of that. I want that.

Seriously that is all. wink.gif
