I know this sounds really really, realllllly stupid. But I've been writting my own music for a while, well more or less just the lyrics. Anyone know who I can pawn them off to? (Hahaha... only wish Jared, and them would want them.) I'm 23 and I've been to hell and back (practically literally) and I just write what comes to mind, and I have about 10-20 fully written out, just no place to send em. Or give them to.

Grab an instrument and sing them yourself.

Best advice I can give you.

your best bet is to send them to a small label, just search through myspace and I'm sure you'll find something.

It's more or less just lyrics to I guess you'd say songs... just stuff I've written over the past few years.

So make up the accompanying music as you go along. Improvise the rhythm, melody, and all that good stuff until you find something you're comfortable with. That's what I do with my traditional songs. I'll write the lyrics all at once and figure everything out later if I like the song enough to not throw it away. Just take into account my opinion is biased because I could never see myself or want to make a living as a songwriter. Anything I write is mine and I cannot even think to give it to someone else because of how personal it is.

Get a mixing program and start messing around on your pc or laptop. I downloaded acoustica and fruity loops the other day. Still need to mess around with them more.

Most companies will only buy "lyrics" when they're attached to things like the key signature, and main melody (hook). Work on that. Or find someone to work on them with. The most successful songwriting ever done, was done by 2 jewish guys.

I find it very odd that a songwriter would not know how to spell it.......

If you download the FL6 demo, it comes with accoustica.

You're just plain down right sarcastic lately. Are you PMSing? dry.gif

This person asked for a suggestion on how to put their lyrics into the right hands.
They didn't ask for some of the sarcasm that is being dished out by a couple here.
Suffice is to say, the ones who can answer these questions are being helpful.
This could be the beginning of a successful career for someone.
Be a part of the solution, and help make budding songwriters make a dream come true.

Song Writer,
Nice to have you hear, and welcome to the boards.
Your question is not stupid at all.
I can't offer any advice as this subject is out of my league.
I wish you all the best, and those who are giving you sound advice are giving you just that.
Good luck. I hope your work gets noticed. smile.gif

I'm cool Chris.
Palus is just down right sarcastic lately. In almost all of his posts.
Doesn't pay to be a young snot all of the time. He needs to come up or air once in a while.
