I picked the Doors because I think their music was ahead of it's time. I read where one of their goals was to open the doors to people's minds instead of just following the "establishment's" ways. I know I've heard some bands say that The Doors influenced them in many ways. I'm glad my parents let me listen to their lp's of The Doors, I wish they still had them, I think they sold them at a yard sale.

I noticed a lot of people here have mentioned that they like some classic rock bands from the 60's and 70's. Who did you pick and did you think they influenced rock today? Sorry if I left any out, please list any that aren't on the list. I tried to get as many as I could think of.

But I have all of their albums on cd. I think their self titled was their best work, it was raw, unique, and had deep meaning.

I knew I was forgetting one of those great classic bands! I even googled 60's and 70's bands. Sorry I missed that one!

If we want to talk about influence....Cream would be the only acceptable answer.

Great choices.
I love LZ for the romanticism of their music, the Beatles for their genius in growing with their music, CCR for the political and sing along music...
Oh hell! I can't just pick one.
I know, I know, just like a woman.
