Wandering in a Forum, Meeting the World Discussion

I found quite interesting the fact that, even through a forum that gathers people from almost every single part of this busy world, you still get to see so many differences in peoples lives, in the way they perceive things, the experiences they have collected through the years living in a certain place, or moving frequently, their spiritual/political/social beliefs, their talents, the way they joke about things, the intelligence/input they offer here. I found very interesting to detect for example, after almost a year being a member of this board, how different in some ways is Miguel's (Doctor Frostbite) life from mine when we live in two totally different countries, divided by the ocean, that yet face more, or less the same problems. I generally get very excited to talk to people from other places of the world and I had this feeling since I was a kid.
Every person here, from the most likable to the most hateful, has to say a different story and share a different feeling about the place they live in, the difficulties they face in their every day life, their tastes in music and art in general, their... everything. In my stay here I've learned a lot of things about many fellow members, mostly their way of living and I admit that sometimes it's quite exciting to think that even if you have your real life outside the internetz, YET there is a place when you can talk, fight, joke, contemplate with people that are so different and live probably 93 Million Miles away from you.
You can always find a way to really communicate if you want it and create an amazing chemistry with other people. In several discussions I have on messengers I realize how eager some people are to learn about you and your life and it's not just loneliness that can lead to that -because I'd like to believe that if nothing else, at least most of us have a good circle of friends and dear people outside this community- it's just a good reason to communicate and learn about the other side of the ocean(s).
I know that many people here do make me smile and laugh by only reading their posts.
So, my... long point is... how getting in here in a more or less daily basis to "check" the forums, affects you in your interaction with other members that may live far from you? What do you find exciting about them? Do you ever think your way of life comparing to theirs? You speak with people often and you know you like them very much, but you will probably never get to meet them because life can be a bitch and hectic. Do you really learn from these other people and their different cultures/ways/thoughts?
Lets put the shit aside for a while and just... discuss.

If someone is happy about something, there is ALWAYS someone who isn't happy about the same thing.
In order for someone to gain anything... one must be at the bottom of something....
Those are my thoughts about this.
And here is a quote everyone knows.
2nd place is always the first loser.

I don't see how this even makes sense in regards to the topic.
And no, I don't really "learn" anything from this board. Nobody here knows me. I don't know anybody. This board is just an outlet for my ridiculousness.

That makes me think of Rickie Bobby's quote:
If you're not first, you're last.
And Elpida... did my 20 questions last night contribute to your ideas about this thread?

A "ridiculousness" I find very amusing and you know it, so I learn something from it.
Yes, you can say that, Toni, lol. I don't know, I just think it's interesting to have that sort of communication provided you are willing to get to know people even through a computer screen.

I really am curious about other cultures and countries, it's all fascinating. I think I have learned a lot from talking with these people from other places in the world. I mean, for me, where I live, the people here are just...not smart or interesting at all. I would just never want to talk to anyone here. The internet is almost my sanctuary, as pathetic as that sounds. It's kind of like an escape for me. Not an escape from reality, but an escape to reality.
Blahblah, so yeah, I love people.

And this is the only thing I know about you!
But I can't deny I like your mystery.
Regarding the topic, it's nice to read different answers and how people perceive this.

That's bullshit; the prolific people on the board are the interesting ones.
