i haven't been in school for the last three days.
my school schedule's getting screwed up.
i haven't been out of the house, except for work last night.
i'm getting a little bit antsy, but i'm relaxed too.

all because of this...

(this is what it looks like outside my house)

we've had a sudden freak snowstorm here in vancouver...i think it's also affecting most of washington state (maybe?)...i like snow and all, but this is ridiculous...and it doesn't snow like this in vancouver...in the east coast of canada or the prairies maybe, but goodness, this is highly unusual.

anyone else having this kind of extreme weather going on?

I'm still amazed Michigan hasn't been ass-rammed three times as hard as this by now.

the weather's backwards actually...

because in toronto, the temperature right now is 13 degrees celcius (55 degrees fahrenheit).
the NORMAL temperature in vancouver at this time is 7 degrees celcius (45 degrees fahrenheit).
right now, the daytime temperature in vancouver is -4 degrees celcius (25 degrees fahrenheit).

it should be snowing in ontario right now, seriously.

It's about 50 degrees in Los Angeles right now. How's that for global warming?

i'm assuming it isn't normally that "cold" in LA?

(sorry, cold in canada = you have to feel your nose hairs stand up inside your nose, it's so cold)

the weather's seriously fucked up these days...i think i'm gonna go watch "an inconvenient truth" soon...because vancouver's been experiencing some extreme weather conditions lately (first, a TON of rain, then a windstorm, then now this snowstorm since last saturday).

Yeahhhh we just got assfucked by that same snowstorm, freakychic. In fact, it was due to the snow in Vancouver that my boyfriend's flight back to winnipeg was cancelled... (the plane was coming from Vancouver to Regina to pick him up, lol) so thanks smile.gif

Ah yes my step sister was telling me about how the weather in Victoria is fucked up and overall just cold as hell. Today was beautiful in Calgary, only -20C instead of -30C like the last few days. I think it's almost time for me to put away my winter jacket and bring out my leather's instead!

OMFG, -20?!

reminds me of my days in ottawa...-20 with a -40 wind chill...now that's bitterly cold.

a week ago, it was rainy in vancouver, and it was already cold, according to jared...if the 30STM show here was THIS week, then we would have been fucked...big time.

Ah yes the good old friend of mine, wind chill. Well I'm not sure what the wind chill factor was the past few days, but I do know this. On Sunday when I was leaving a live gig my friend was in, I'm pretty sure that the temperature + wind chill was close to being -38C (-36F). I was oh so very happy to have to brush an inch of snow off my car before I could leave. dry.gif

It's supposed to drop around 40-50 degrees by tomorrow with mixed precip here. I was putting on the outdoor faucet covers today and got drenched (lots of water straight to the crotch) when I was an idiot and forgot to make sure it was off before removing the hose.

The weather has been kind of off since before Halloween. Normally it would have snowed like a S.O.B. on Halloween and Thanksgiving. This year, it's been bone dry and warm (which was good for the 11.15 concert). Now we're getting some snow, but it's till no where near what it should be.

well, apparently it's going to RAIN tonight too...which would make for some interesting weather when the water freezes tomorrow.

walking along icecapades, anyone?

Doesn't water freeze at 32F? If so then I can't even fathom a place canceling school over a little frozen rain or sleet. Hell nothing closes in my town unless there is more than two feet of snow that's fallen in one night, or if the temperature drops to some kind of ungodly level (-40C before the wind chill).
