30STM was on the lineup last year for voodoo but after Katrina and then the splitting of the event into two states, they dropped off the list or at least played in Memphis if I remember correctly. Being as how they just came through New Orleans playing an 18PLUS show at HOB, I couldnt get in and hope that they come back for Voodoo this fall and play a lengthy set.

Anybody from Louisiana or anybody that plans on going to Voodoo agree with me on this post your thoughts. I'm planning on doing some serious Echelon promotion in NOLA in the coming months to get some attention focused on both the band and Voodoo Fest.

By the way when I mean a lengthy set I dont mean the entire ABL with Buddha and Capricorn thrown in. Let's even it out a bit. I've never even gotten to experience a real 30 Seconds to Mars show and this seems like the only chance I'd have so I'd want it to be real awesome. So lengthy set being an even mix of both amazing albums. It wouldnt hurt.

If they are to play Voodoo this year, I'd go the day they are playing just to see them, and you are defiantely right that they do need to evenly mix the two albums up a bit more instead of just mostly ABL and just "Capricorn" and "Buddha for Mary" (or in the last Baton Rouge show's case, just "Capricorn") from the s/t CD. Now as for how many songs in quantity they would play, I'm not too sure. Considering that recently at both New Orleans AND Baton Rouge, they played only eight songs even though they were headlining, I really don't know how long they're able to play if they're not one of the headliners at Voodoo. I just hope that if they do play Voodoo, they have a decent set of songs from both CD's.

P.S. It's too bad that I didn't go to their headlining show at the Parish of the HOB in November of 2002 (with local band InVain and another local band opening for them). Even though I was 18 at the time, that was an all ages show and I could've went with any of my friends, but none of them liked 30STM at the time (they just wanted heavy shit) and my parents didn't want me going by myself then. I go to many shows by myself now, however.
