Hello.
My name is Seth. I am the former fan who attended the 5/14 show at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD, who Jared pointed out of the crowd because of a dissenting opinion. When Jared asked how we were doing, I voiced my disapproval of the show. I gave you the finger from where I was standing in the back of the club. I was brought up to the front stage and ridiculed in front of the crowd because my opinion differed from Jared.
I like the music that 30 Seconds to Mars produces. I have both albums, and I enjoy them, as well as the previous three shows I attended after the release of the first album. I have met the band after each of the other three shows, and have enjoyed small conversations and pictures we have taken. In short, I am a small part of the reason why YOU have music careers. I am the reason you were able to release a second album, and to why you are able to have a headlining show. I am also the reason you have the ability to lead other fans in a chant of FUCK YOU, in fact I paid you $15 (plus $1 service charge) for you to be able to tell me off. You had the ability to voice your opinion in front of many people, now I am simply returning the favor. I think your set, or at least the four songs of it that I was able to see, was the most pretentous set I have ever seen. I enjoy your music on CD, but when you played it tonight, live with that horrible echo effect attached to the vocals, you ruined those four songs that I like. You said that the crowd and the band were together the family, and that you do not treat your family that way (by giving them the finger). Well you gave the finger to me by ruining songs that I have come to love. When you ask how I am doing, why would I bullshit you when I'm not having a good time. You said that I am the face of hatred, ignorance, and stupidity, but no, that face is yours. You have achieved this "prize" by not allowing dissenting opinions. You have become "what is wrong with this country", not me.
Your success has made you think that you are above the common fan. I do hope that you will one day return to being simply that, a fan. I hope that one day, you will be able to appreciate your fans as fans, and not people who worship you. I'm sure most of your fans are not people who "worship you" but simply enjoy your music. We listen to it on a regular basis, along with other bands we enjoy. You, Jared, are not the sole reason we are alive, you are simply a source of entertainment, and a good one at that. You are not Jesus, you are an actor/musician. Please get off your high horse and stop alienating your fans. Thank you for the music.

one query - such a hardcore fan yet this is the first post?
btw 'you' alone are not the reason why this band exists or was able to make a second record i highly doubt that the lack of one person purchasing the album would be of such detriment to their sales.
im sure the guys are loosing sleep...
