I got a mail on my MySpace page from Musician Photo Journal (http://www.myspace.c...ianphotojournal ), pointing me towards her website. She has an interview with Shannon and Matt, a review of ABL and pictures from two concerts:

I don’t know if she sent that mail to every one at MySpace. Nobody seems to have picked up on this as far as I know (if someone did: sorry for re-posting), but there is something in that interview that caught my attention:

MPJ - Wait, your first guitarist drowned?
SHANNON - Yeah, it was this really freak accident thing... but yes, he drowned. Tomo was a fan of the band for a while and we brought him aboard.

Somebody knows more about this? Wasn’t there a recent thread saying Solon was still playing in another group? Or is Shannon talking about someone else? I know he jokes around a lot during interviews, but he usually has his “facts” right. I can’t imagine him making this up. Strange …

He did hit Matt in the head with a "Caution: Wet Floor" sign, though. Didn't hurt him though. He has little, girly arms.

No, Solon is alive and well as far as i know. ..and i don't believe he is still with earlimart. Was with a group called great northern last i knew.

Could it be Kevin Drake Shannon was talking about? (*grins sheepishly*) I'm realizing I still have things to learn about this band ... But that doesn't change the main question: is Kevin Drake still alive and kicking?

Solon Bixler was still alive in December 2004, and playing with The Great Northern (http://www.fresnofam...-espinozas.html). I didn't find anything on Kevin Drake on the internet, but if he left before Solon, then it has to be Solon Shannon was talking about. And it was a joke ...
