From montgomeryadvertiser.com: It looks like 30 Seconds to Mars has decided to change its name to Canceling 30 Hours before Showtime.
The band, which is fronted by actor Jared Leto, has canceled its show scheduled for tonight at Off the Wagon. The cancellation was a shock to Off the Wagon owner Chris Rambo.
"No one called us," he said. "They just decided to cancel a bunch of dates and not tell anyone."
The group canceled dates here and in Birmingham this week as well as three dates out on the West coast. Rambo said he learned about it from the group's Web site.
It stands to be a big loss to Rambo, who is contemplating legal action, as pre-sales for the show were the third-highest in the club's history.

Boo fucking woo... Just because he can't get people through the door of his club for other shows, doesn't mean that a killer band playing there needs to be sued becuase they had to cancel. GROW UP RAMBO Put away your lawyers, pick up your nuts, and act like a man.

i dont blame him. i mean if they cancel 30 hours before the show. ppl like me want our money back. which means the owner of the venue is out cash. you cant book anything in that slot because its to late. so the club is out for a night. the ppl that work there were planning on the hours. the vendure who supply the club are still dilivering for what he expectecd the copasity to be. it really was very soon to the date when they canceled. a lot of ppl are out cash when bands do this the bad part is the fans pay for it. i had tickets to the birmingham show with chevell im not driveing 3 hours to see chevell. i was going to see 30stm. but there not playing. but becuse chevell is i dont get my money back. they cant refund the ticket because the event isnt canceled just 1 band. they dont refund that becuse they dont feel they could release that ticket in time. do you get it now!!

Nope. My dear, you might be able to pull this one over on OTHER people who dont' know the biz, but sorry, i do.
1) there are a BILLION bands/comedians/poetry readers that would LOVE to go on stage that night, last minute notice or not. he could open the venue as an open mic night.
2) by people getting a refund on their tix, he isn't losing any money that he didn't already have
3)SHIT HAPPENS! Bands don't always have a choice in matters such as this. This venue owner is just ass hurt because he saw his venue about to sell out, whereas it never does. Sorry about his luck...LIFE HAPPENS
4) get out and experience something new (i mean GO SEE CHEVELLE)... Don't let 1 band canceling a show ruin your life... and if it does, then you need to get a life outside, where the dandilions grow.
Simply put, life is what you make it babydoll, and if your going to have a tizzy over 30 canceling 1 show (where as it may not have been their fault, it may have been their label, or a scheduling conflict that was not forseen)
if you've been a fan of 30 for any length of time, you know that they dont' just up and cancel shit... Rest assured this was out of their hands.
in the words of you... "do you get it now?"

no you cant get an identical band with the fan base if 30stm to fill in in 2 days. fans dont buy tickets to see 30stm and still go to see some local band instead. the band is messing w/ ppls money now. yes shit happens but if you let it happen once and loose money whats to stop it from happening agin. i dont want the band to get sued either but i want my 56.50$ back on the show that i paid for. i work for my money. i dont like looseing it. but the venuse arnt refunding anyone thier money. because they not reciveing any compensation for the time. do you get it? its about money it has nothing to do with music. it just business.

Everyone who bought tickets for the show on 8/10 at Off the Wagon via the website was refunded every penny, including the service fee within 10 hours of cancellation.
