It was not dissapointing, AT ALL. It's worth the money, I promise you. Then again I really love just about everything Tim Burton does,he's very talented. smile.gif This movie is amazing, do not pass on any chance to see it! GO NOW! biggrin.gif

of course!!! I'm a Tim Burton freak. The film that he's done which didn't live up to the brilliance of others is the remake of Planet of the Apes...although it was still very good.
Looking forward to this new Charlie....and I'm sure it has the Tim Buton effect on it! wink.gif . It's funny but people will compare it to the original with Gene Wilder even thoguh the new version is meant to be more faithful tot he oringinal book

Really? I didn't know that. The ending is much different than the original- my mom really likes it and she didn't even want to see it. It's SO weird. I just kept being more amazed by the psycho-ish-ness of it.lol.

this movie sucked more cock then a 80 year old veteran new york hoooker. They destroyed the originial movie by creating this.

the oompa loompa songs sucked....the whoel point of them is to UNDERSTAND why there singing, and they over produced them so much so u cant tell that there making fun of the kids.

and the oompa loompas were mexican. lol

dont get me wrong, The acting was very good, but the movie still sucked.

watch....20 years from now someones going to remake a starwars film......why do producers destroy classics? pisses me off

no one will be able to play a better willy then Gene Wilder

....and no one will be able to top Jack Nicholson as the joker when the new new batman movie comes out a few years from now.

Roald Dahl (who wrote the story of Charlie and the Chocolate factory) in fact disliked the 1971 film a great deal as it did about as good of a job of representing the book as a movie based on an Anne Rice book. While Roald Dahl has since passed away, his wife who holds his estate and book catalog was very involved in the making of this film as a reference for its accuracy and of Roald Dahl’s initial vision. According to Mrs. Dahl in the July edition of Entertainment magazine, Roald Dahl would have adored this movie. The look actually goes with the new story line rather well being that they do come from a rather tropical environment so it would make sense that their skin pigmentation would be a bit darker etc... However I do agree that the songs were way over produced and would have been best left to the simplicity of the 1971 Willy Wonka.

Ok, I just watched this last night, and it totally kicked ass and made me laugh. I have never seen the original so I can't say whether or not I like this one more, but I just loved it.

"In fact, everything in this room is edible, including me. But that would be cannabilism, which is frowned upon in most societies." - Willy Wonka

Johnny Depp totally instilled in me the total belief that he IS the world's best actor for versatility.

Yeah, I REALLY REALLY hated the songs, but other than that I love it. I've seen it twice and once with my 24 year old brother. He loved it, and I convinced my 22 year old brother to see it too. Damn I'm good. lol.

"I really have to watch where I park this thing..."

I cracked my fucking ass up laughing at this line. Just too freaking funny.

"Don't touch that squirrel's nuts!!!!!!!!!!!"

Man, I want a squirrel badly now. "Daddy, I want a squirrel. THAT ONE!"

I loved the first Movie, but I truley liked the second one as well! It wasnt sopose to follow the first, it was actually following the book. I personally like how it was re-done! movies have been remade for ever, and if someone is going to be closed minded on how a movie is re-done then don't watch it.
movies that are rewriten/redone is just anothers persons take on someones creativity, and their own way of seeing a story.

for instance...take some classics...Cleopatra, Sabrina, Parent-Trap, Romeo & Juliet. These have all been done so many times and what is a better way to continue or remember a story or tale??? remakes, repetition, ect....passed on generation to generation. History here folks.
lame or other wise, info, stories, music, history fact, ect, gets passed on through media, word of mouth and so on.
and that my friends is the power of creative people, and the tellers of tales! wink.gif
