There is a meaning for all of their songs but it changes from person to person....what I think the song is about could/would be different to what you think....I see it as a severing of ties with the old and starting with the new..geting over th past....but thats just me

I think it's about some person. As well, because Jared's vioce is desperate and full of pain actually. (I never heard so much emotions listening to the 1st album) I wonder when this song has been really written. No names either.

i think... Jared is seeking for something noble... immortality or Reality.

he feels whatever we say, they are lies.

I think bands love it when their fans come up with their own perception of the songs. So many different meanings from everyone, no two alike, I think they like seeing what we come up with and seeing if someone hits the nail on the head.

I feel that it is about a sacrifice that one makes for another. the words being "Run away, run away, I'll attack" symbolize throwing yourself into harms way for someone who is weak. I look at it as more of a emotional attack aposed to a physical one...

This is a very sweet thought, but I think when he says, 'go chase yourself', it's a clue to something more bitter towards whoever he's addressing. I do agree that he is making the statement towards a person/persons who is/are 'weak'. He is definitely reaffirming his strength, even in the face of all the lies and backstabbing.

Then again, our perception of a good song will always change, depending on where one happens to be at in a particular moment in time.
