Oh yes, the world is most definitely coming to an end. We are a plague to mother earth, and she will slowly rid the planet of our machines and our pollution, to start over again.

Either that, or the world is going to be destroyed completely.... but I don't think it will happen too soon. Everything has to end sometime, though.

ya. you'd think people would learn.... with water shortages starting to happen which may lead to privitization of water, to holes in the ozone, to strange changes in the weather patterns (look at this winter and hurricane seaons) ... something is brewing....just what is it

George Bush is the antichrist, and his being re-elected is going to bring about the 2nd coming and the entire population of Earth is going to hell.

I'm actually agnostic, but that would be pretty fucking entertaining.

This is really long... but for anyones who cares, this is what it says the end of the world will be like in the Bible biggrin.gif

(i highlighted the more important parts, this really isn't the best version of the bible, the grammer is not the greatest)

Luke 21:6-38
He (Jesus) said,
"As for these things which you see, the days will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down."
And they asked him, "Teacher, when will this be, and what will be the sign when this is about to take place?"
And he said, "Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, `I am he!' and, `The time is at hand!' Do not go after them.
And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified; for this must first take place, but the end will not be at once."
Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.
This will be a time for you to bear testimony.
Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer;
for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and kinsmen and friends, and some of you they will put to death;
you will be hated by all for my name's sake.
But not a hair of your head will perish.
By your endurance you will gain your lives.
"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.
Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it;
for these are days of vengeance, to fulfil all that is written.
Alas for those who are with child and for those who give suck in those days! For great distress shall be upon the earth and wrath upon this people;
they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive among all nations; and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

"And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,
men fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Now when these things begin to take place, look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

And he told them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees;
as soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near.
So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all has taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
"But take heed to yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a snare;
for it will come upon all who dwell upon the face of the whole earth.
But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of man."
And every day he was teaching in the temple, but at night he went out and lodged on the mount called Olivet.
And early in the morning all the people came to him in the temple to hear him.

I didn't highlight the long part but it basically says christians will be persecuted, mocked, tempted etc..

well if were gonna use the bible for the end of the world....the second you see some zombies, you know the apocolypse is coming....becuase the bible says the dead will rise.

smile.gif

but dont bother reading the apoclypse part of the bible if your interested in learning about the end of the world. that was all metaphor . one of my fav. metaphorical pieces actually. some people are two......i dunno, dont want to offend anyone, but they cant see past some things in the bible as not being true....they think that what happend, happend as it was writen, but much of it is metaphor. If you read the kings james version of the bible, after the catholic church was broken up into different sections, you can read some even better writing because king james at the time hired all the famous writers at the time, including William Shakespear, to write re-write it.

I love religious people who are able to see these things in the bible. they are the true believers in my opinion because, well....they have a higher understanding then the others..........they ARE NOT ignorant, and if ignorance is bliss....then not having it, and still being religious must make you tops/

religion is weird...and fasinating at the same time. yet all religions usually have the same ending.....that all who worship it will be happy in the end.

BUT like a comedian i saw said......It would be crazy to die in the appocolypse.

youd be in heaven hearing everyone like.....i died in a train accident...i choked to death, and you can be like...I DIED IN THE MOTHERFUCKING APOCOLYPSE BITCHES!!!!! I WAS THERE!!! IT WAS CRAZY!!!

I think it depends what you're talking about. For example, it says in the bible that God created the world in 7 days. I beleive that is true, because it says, God created day and night and on the second day... etc.. why would God create day and night and talk about what He created in each day if what he really meant was millions of years? Also it makes perfect sence because our week has 7 days.

People are just to rational, they can't beleive anything that doesn't make sence to them. But really if you think about it, if someone can beleive in God , why can't they beleive the earth was created in 7 days? And if ppl can beleive in evolution, that all the intrecusies of life... emotion, molecule, televsion, atmosphere, love, inteleigence.. that all that just happent, just came from a single molecule or a big bang! that is just as crazy as beleiveing in God.

but i do agree that there are some things ppl can interprete wrong and take too litlerally. Like for example it said in the bible that women must be silent and cover themselves and not braid their hair, but culture has completley changed and is always changing, it's 2005. so if you would apply those verses to this time period, what God is saying is don't focus on appearances, dress appopriately etc.. and of course these days women are equal to men. we can do whatever they can biggrin.gif .. to an extent. i still don't think women should be ministers, but that's a whole diff topic.

Oh, and about the apocalipse, i seriously think that it was meant literally. Thsoe things will happen some day, who knows when. you can already see it starting, global warming, terrorism, ppl thinking anyone who isn't liberal should not say what they think...

Give me some proof hun, just give me some proof.
I can believe in the Easter bunny, this gives me 'faith' but it doesn't make it true.

oops! yeah revelations is definelty hmmm. i haven't read that in so long... ok revelations doesn't count, that's one of the most difficult chapters in the bible to understand, and definelty has hidden meanings, and stuff... i was talking about Luke 21.
k, i'm not the best christian out there, i only just recenlty started reading the bible nightly... I mean i've been a christian all my life but when your raised as a christian sometimes you tune things out..

Couldn´t agree with you more. Some people just take the bible as fact (actual events). That makes me wonder about some people...how can they not question and reflect? How can they take the Bible so litteraly?
When it is metaphorically written...

Talking about people who take the bible litteraly, I was at a Jehovahs witnesses (?) meeting last week. These people are scary, it can´t be healthy for the kids to hear their parents talk about the end of the world 3hours/3 times a week.
