But Jill, I did want to say that I think you're pretty fucking cool and you say a lot of what I think people WANT to say whether or not they dare to say it. I like you, you speak your mind : )
I think instead of you posting less, you should post more because this place sucks most days and needs people like you to post and make it worth coming to.

) and its weird cause sometimes i miss this place, then i come here, get a headache from the idiocy and feel bad about what a black hole this place fell down. :sigh:
ever considered turning off the radio if you think some song is overplayed?
no way! in all of my 29 years i have NEVER thought to turn it off! what a concept! that will solve the problem that is heavy rotation! shit it just might cure cancer and gran world peace!
let me tell you about heavy rotation. ever turn on a station and they play the same 10 flavor of the week songs ALL DAY? and THATS IT? yea... then you got other stations that play more random stuff, maybe some older stuff, but will play the same popular songs the previously mentioned heavily rotated flavor of the week songs also? yea... its shit is a new popular single, its EVERYWHERE. like a fucking virus. which is fine at first. until you hear it 67 times a day. yea maybe i could turn the radio off, or change the station BUT! nyc only has ONE rock station. virginia beach (where i lived for 3 years) only has TWO! so what am i gonna change it to? some top 40 station that also plays nothing but the same 10 songs? except those are teeny bopper pop or bubble gum hip hops songs? no thanks.
BUT WAIT! maybe i can listen to something other than the radio? oh but no, cause my old job at the coffee house ONLY had a radio. and my other job in VB, when i was driving the clients around all day in the company car didnt have my cds. oh and at my current job (here in our 1 rock station city of new york) i dont even listen to that one station! now i stream other stations online. maine station, virginia stations, texas stations, cali stations. and guess what they play? in their daily rotations, they play the new singles. so yea i hear TIW on the virginia station, so i click over to the maine station. what comes on 5 minutes later? TIW. ok, let go across the country to LA, within 10 minutes, TIW is on.
so i make playlists on playlist.com but i can only have so many playlists. i cant save my music on my ard drive at work cause i dont know, the company just doesnt want it. and sometimes i want a nice random surprise. so see my point is, i dont have an issue with songs, i dont have an issue with certain stations, i have an issue with the fact that most if not all stations, take the most popular new singles and over play them til they crawl in your brain and torture you in your sleep. is there anything i can do? no.. that is the nature of the game would i ever think to contact these stations and tell them not to do that? again no. but i WILL mention it in a message board thread discussing singles. and i will vote for songs OTHER than the ones i love to become singles. because that is just what happens to singles. its the same thing with vh1/mtv/fuse or whatever it is that plays videos these days. it was the same 10 videos over and over. i get that. but im not going to sit at my desk staring at spreadsheets all day in total silence so i will deal with it and just mention my distaste for it in a somewhat relevant thread.
